Hi! I am Zach Matthew B. Noche, but you can call me Zach or Matt.
I am 20 years old, born in Quezon City but happily living in the prosperous city of Cainta.
Currently, I am a 2nd year student undertaking BSCS-ST studying in my dream school, De La Salle University - Manila.
Ever since I was introduced in the wonderful world of computers, I have always been fascinated and passionate in learning more about it. It was also thanks to my brother who always taught and introduced me to different software and hardware that I have grown to love computers.
Although I would say that I am not the best programmer, I am still willing to learn and improve my skills and to use these learned skills in college to specialize in creating software that helps in education.
Since learning how to program in DLSU, I have picked up a lot of programming languages and skills.
Although I wouldn't say I am the best programmer, I am still willing to learn and improve my skills, and I am confident with my understanding of programming logic and concepts.
This is to say that I am confident in my skills in the following programming languages:
I am more into the back-end side of programming, but I am also willing to learn front-end programming. However, while I understand and willing to learn front-end programming, I am not confident in my skills due to the fact that I am not good at arts and design in general... which sucks :(
When I started programming, I always had the notion that programming as a whole is a solo activity. Since then, I have come to realize that programming is a collaborative activity, and that it is better to work with other people.
Initially, I did all my programming projects alone, but as I progressed in my programming journey, I have met fellow programmers, and they have helped me in my programming journey. I have also helped them in their programming, and this collaboration activity made me realize that to be the best programmer, you have to work with other people.
Currently, I am in a Sprint Team with my classmates, and we are working on a project that will help aspiring programmers to learn programming. It is a very ambitious project, but I am confident that we will finish this and make our clients happy.
Programming is a job that is very broad and can be applied to a lot of fields. Initially, I don't know what I want specifically in programming, but as I progressed in my programming journey, I have come to realize that I want to be a programmer that helps in education.
Education can come in many forms, but I want to focus on helping the programming industry in the Philippines. This is because I have noticed the trend of the lack of programmers focused in the Philippines, and I want to help foster our local programming industry.
I don't know what specifically my role will be, but since I am more into the back-end side of programming, I want to lead and be a part of the team that will innovate AI and Machine Learning in the Philippines and use it to help in a better system for education, especially in helping students learn programming as easily as possible.
Throughout the years, I have learned a lot of hobbies and skills that I have grown to love. Some of these hobbies are about Gaming, Music, and Sports. Although too many to mention, I would like to share some of my favorite hobbies.
When my Father brought home a computer, I was introduced to the world of gaming. As a kid growing up in the 2000s, I was exposed to multitude of games, ranging from web games found in Y8, Miniclip, and Newgrounds, to the games found in the computer itself. Since then, I have played a lot of games not just in the computer, but also in consoles, notable being the PSP, PS1, and the PS2.
It is honestly hard to create a list of my favorite games, but if I really have to list the 10 most impactful games in my life, it would be:
The list of games I'm currently playing will be a long list... if I was in High School. But since I am in College, I don't have time to play games as much as I used to. But currently, I am playing:
I love listening to music, I mean who doesn't? It is sad, however, that I suck at anything music related. I can't sing, dance, or play any instrument. But that doesn't stop me from listening to music.
I have a hobby of listening to an album and then rating it. I have a list of albums that I have listened to and rated in my Album of The Year account. It isn't that updated though because I have been busy with school.
I actually don't have a preference in music genre, I just listen to anything that sounds good to me. Below are some of my favorite albums of all time:
I am currently listening to a few albums, but the ones I am listening to the most are:
Believe or not, but I do not like ball games. I don't know why, but I just don't like them. I do, however, like sports that involve running and biking. I have joined a few duathlon events in the past, and I am planning to join more in the future.
Currently, I am not training for anything. I was supposed to join a marathon event this year but due to college having such a heavy workload, I had to cancel my plans. I am planning to definitely join and train within the next year.
That is why I also want to get the swimming course in DLSU. I want to learn how to swim so that I can transition to triathlon events. I am not sure if I will be able to do it, but I will try my best.
Oh and I was very fat before, I was 115kg at my heaviest. I am now 75kg, and I plan to stay that way. I guess I started this journey because I was tired of being tired all the time. I also wanted to challenge myself meaningfully, and well also I kinda wanted to impress my crush at that time. But now I just do it for self-improvement and to stay healthy physically and mentally.
